Does the free legal advice have a time limit?

Yes! People Management customers can access 15 minutes of free legal advice per issue.

What happens if I need more support after the free 15-minute period?

If you need to engage with Copeland Ashcroft for more help, they’ll guide you through the next steps. This includes discussing their rates, their engagement terms and other client care information to support you. They’ll also look at who in their team is best to support you, and if there is someone local to you.

Who will answer my call?

Copeland Ashcroft’s helpline is made up of lawyers who can usually help as soon as they pick up the phone.

What days and hours is the helpline available?

The helpline is available between 8.00am - 5.00pm, Monday to Friday. This excludes New Zealand Public Holidays.

I have a regular Lawyer or HR support person; can I continue to use them?

Sure! You can use whoever you choose, but the benefit of using the helpline is that you’ll get access to specialist advice quickly, to provide support for what are often urgent issues.

Smartly’s collaborating legal services terms and conditions

Eligibility

To access Smartly’s collaborating legal services, you must be subscribed to Smartly’s People Management product.

Complimentary Legal Advice

You are entitled to 15 minutes of complimentary legal advice for each distinct issue encountered. You may call as often as necessary, provided each call is related to a different issue (as reasonably determined by the legal service provider).

Extended Legal Assistance

All legal advice given by the collaborating legal service provider is subject to their standard client terms of engagement. Should you require more time or specific legal advice tailored to your situation, the legal service provider will assist you in determining the appropriate next steps.

Termination

Smartly may withdraw the collaborating legal service or change provider at any time at its sole discretion and without notice.
